An inconvenient truth?
Today, I decided to write about our world. Not our Europe as a Union of countries with different background and political history, stereotypes and different cultures. But about one world with one goal : Peace.
The question rising with this little word is, do our politicians share our emotion and desperate need for world peace? Or everything has gone under the microscope of economical and industrial development?
Rereading the facts of every World War so far, the story is pretty much the same. Economical crises, people who revolute and a psycho leader declaring that he will put things back in order, “for the good of people”. Now, how war and killing millions of innocents is for the good of people, history will tell…
The facts are usually different. As different are the benefits in every century. The background, yet, remains the same. The imperialistic politics, which always demand power over lower economically countries, with ultimate goal to rule them as if they are their colonies. The casus belli was easy to be given, reliant on people’s fear and their right to feel patriots.
In both cases of the war, banks were funding both sides of the opponents, creating huge sovereign debts over the warring sides…and themselves to be richer and richer. In fact, according to some theories, banks themselves created Great Depression, poverty, big loans diminishing countries’ GDP, leading people to sink to abjection.
Do any of these facts ring a bell to you?
Economical crisis, revolutions, austerity, debts that daily are been increased for thousands of euros, high level of unemployment.
Where is this leading? What are we doing? What will we do? Will we be the generation that has too much to lose, becoming silent observers?
We are working for one Europe without stereotypes. No discrimination. Human Rights. Peace and stability. But what value will all these have under the big cloud of a suffering society? Under poverty and hunger? Or even worse, under the grey cloud of a war…
Regardless the point of any skirmish, we all experience a new era in our home. The air is different and prepare us for new things to come…Error handlings of the past reveal the results today, economical and political systems question values that we, as Europeans, were taking for granted, conspiracy theories rise through independent sources of information.
Is it all true? Or is it just the theory of a mad man? Truth is the truth you live. And what we are living is only at the beginning and has a lot to bring to present even now…
As on the news all we get to hear are about economical crisis, movements as “indignados” or “occupy Wall Street”, bad PIIGS sinking Europe, unemployment and global revolution, now is the time to show that we are not here just to exist. But we are here because we inherited maybe a messy world. A world we love, a Europe we consider to be our home and a planet which we will make it into something we all deserve…
